About This Course

Algebra is one of the fundamental branches of mathematics, with important applications in computer science, engineering, and the natural sciences. This course is designed for students who wish to acquire a solid foundation in abstract algebra. It consists of lectures and tutorials organized into four chapters, following the official ministerial syllabus.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to :

  • Apply logical reasoning and proof techniques to solve problems.
  • Analyze discrete structures and their fundamental properties.
  •  Evaluate key algebraic concepts, including groups, rings, fields, and modular arithmetic.
  •  Develop logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Use abstract algebra as a foundation for advanced studies in computer science.

Requirements

Students are expected to possess a high school–level foundation in mathematics and should be able to:

  • Apply fundamental mathematical concepts and elementary analysis to solve problems.
  • Analyze the properties and operations of some sets.
  •  Evaluate relationships among sets and subsets.
  • Manipulate algebraic expressions to solve equations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in order relations and basic algebraic operations.
  •  Interpret and analyze functions and polynomials in various contexts.
  • Construct logical arguments and effectively communicate mathematical reasoning in writing.
